| DESCRIPTION | This course teaches students the design and evaluation of novel smart assistive technologies for people with disabilities (e.g., blind, deaf, motor-impaired) and the aging population. Students will learn user-centered methods to identify true user needs and design smart assistive technologies that leverage immersive media (e.g., VR/AR/MR) or AIoT (e.g., AI, mobile and wearable sensing). Moreover, students will also learn how to evaluate the performance and user experience of such assistive technologies. |
